1929: A New Bridge at Brora.
In August 1929, a new bridge was opened at Brora. The design by the noted architect Sir Evan Owen Williams, cleverly incorporated the old bridge for pedestrian use. Williams was known for his work using concrete, and his most famous work was perhaps his design for the original Wembley Stadium.
I recently obtained a set of postcards depicting the construction of Brora Bridge. They all came from Williams's archive, and include two sent to him postmarked Aberdeen 21 August 1929. I thought it worth keeping the set together as a record of the work, the result of which can still be seen today. I have displayed the photos as a slide show.
