"Ben Cruachan from near Kilkrennan, Spring Time." An oil painting by John Williams, Campsie.
"Lechroy. Falls of Roy." A strong watercolour, monogrammed 'H.B.' Any suggestions for the artist?
"Stronger Morning Light, Ben Mhor, Bin Blaven, Loch Ainort, Skye." By John Cochran (1821 - 1865).
"Scuir na Gillean, Sligachan.1874." A fine watercolour of a famous Skye view. Attributed to Robert Alexander.
One of a set of Georgian watercolours. Untitled, but with the monogram GK, and dated 1800.
Again untitled (any ideas?), and this one unsigned.

"Loch Aneilin."
"Saw Mills of Kilmoraick on the Beaulie River."
The last of these Georgian watercolours. "From the Saw Mills."
"Carn Dearg, from the Shore. 11 Aug. 1880." By George Corson, the distinguished architect based in Leeds. In 1880, he was commissioned to build some Glasgow Municipal Buildings, and celebrated by building this house at Gairloch.
Strath, Loch Gairloch, by George Corson. His house was noted for its red tiled roof - not fully appreciated by the locals! It became a youth hostel after his death, and I believe no longer has a red roof.

"Ben Eay" by George Corson, 24th September, 1870. The view of Ben Eighe from Kinlochewe. Corson obviously made regular trips to the far north.

"Near Fort Augustus, 1870." Artist again unknown.
"Strathpeffer." Artist unknown.
"Strathpeffer, 1915. Taken to Police Station for sketching in a Prohibited Area." An intriguing scenario - derring-do in Ross and Cromarty? Artist unknown.
"Loch Kinellan, Strathpeffer. Sept. 4th 1887." By William Martin Conway (1856 - 1937). Later 1st Baron of Allington, Conway was a remarkable polymath - explorer, politician and cartographer. He mapped parts of both the Himalya, and the Andes in the 1890s.

A rare sketch of Dun Dornadilla by Anna Julia Grant-Duff (1839 - 1915). It is titled on the back and dated May 1875. Anna was married to Sir Mountstuart Elphinstone Grant-Duff, with whom she travelled widely. The famous broch was still receiving few visitors at this time.
Stones of Clava
Another watercolour by Anna Grant-Duff. Clava Cairns, an impressive site to the easst of Inverness, set on a terrace above the River Nairn. A Bronze Age cemetery. Sketch dated 1875.
A splendid sepia image of Drovers taking their cattle south. Exact location unknown.
Barely the far NW, but an attractive watercolour by William Moore (junior), titled "Near the Head of Loch Tay" and dated 1887. Certainly with Highland features: the thatched cottage, and peat stacks to the left.
"Loch Brora, Sutherland." An original oil painting signed indistinctly on the back. Possibly J. Osborne Brown? Dated 1876.

There is a Colnaghi label on the back of this watercolour: "On the Culag, Loch Inver with the Canisp and Suilven. B. Slope. An early 20th century painting?
"Stags at Glen Kingie, Highlands, Scotland", an original drawing by Harold Frank Wallace. He is known for his portrayal of Scottish game, especially deer. Early 20th century
