Monsieur Trottman in Scotland
As the number of people travelling increased during the 19th century, so cartoonists increasingly delighted in portraying the essence of the countries visited. Scotland was no exception: I shall post a page on such depictions as found in magazines like the Graphic later. In the meantime I hope you will enjoy Charles Amedee de Noe's [Cham's] Monsieur Trottman en Ecosse, which was published in Le Charivari magazine in 1845.
